A bit about the role…

Morrison Data Services have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contract Executive to join our Energy Data Collect team based within our Newcastle Head Office on part time basis (16-21hrs per week). As a Contract Executive you will ensure a consistent service is provided to all EDC customers. You will be responsible for delivering contractual obligations, management of customer expectations alongside identification of scope for growth and opportunity to add value to the services we deliver.

You will work alongside our clients to report and promote on contractual performance ensuring we maintain contract retention and drive profitability. As the Contract Executive you will be the first escalation point for all customer services related issues and queries.

The Contract Executive will work closely with Head of Clients EDC, Service Delivery and Reporting functions to ensure that issues are resolved and timely information is sent to customers; they will also work closely with the MGS Commercial and Strategic Accounts functions to align with the wider customer relationship and to ensure growth opportunities are realised.

Key Responsibilities…

  • Manage structured and ad hoc engagement with customers, in line with contract obligations and customer expectations; to include weekly and monthly reporting and meetings, and response to ad hoc enquiries
  • Work with Reporting function to ensure customers receive timely and accurate information that meets contractual obligations and customer expectations
  • Ensure timely response to any ad hoc customer queries
  • Maintain comprehensive record of customer correspondence
  • Work with the Service Delivery function to ensure that services meet contract obligations and customer expectations
  • Develop and support a continuous improvement culture
  • With the Head of Clients EDC,  where appropriate, develop structured account plans to ensure customers’ plans, priorities, challenges and stakeholders are well understood
  • Support the successful mobilisation and delivery of new work, both projects or enduring services
  • With the support of the Commercial function, ensure any adjustments to the contract are appropriately governed, signed off and captured in contract change notices 
  • Ensure pricing adjustments including indexation, volume-banding and NLW adjustments are correctly agreed, communicated internally and applied
  • Ensure that accurate and timely invoices are submitted and cash collected in line with contractual obligations
  • Build market knowledge across areas of regulation, trends, developments, new technologies and competitor activity
  • Represent the customer in internal discussions regarding service priorities and evolution
  • Contribute constructively to the continuous improvement and growth of EDC, including the identification of new services and markets that meet the evolving needs of customers
What you’ll bring to the role…
  • Minimum of two years progressive responsibility with quantifiable results in customer-facing roles (e.g., administration and/or management)
  • An effective team worker with proven leadership skills and the desire to deliver results
  • Able to demonstrate a high degree of resilience and perseverance
  • Ability to operate in a matrix environment, coordinating the activities of multiple teams and functions to meet the expectations of customers
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Robust skills in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Mobilisation and project management skills (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of the utilities retail sector (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of EDC systems, processes and service contracts as well those across MGS Energy Retail (Desirable)
